New publication: "Optimal Allocation of Near Expiry Food in a Retailer-Foodbank Supply Network with Economic and Environmental Considerations: An Aggregator's View"

The article in which our Chair of Industrial Engineering, Dr. Yaşanur Kayıkcı along with research associates Jasashwi Mandal, Rony Mitra, Vishal Kumar Gupta and Prof. Dr. Manoj Kumar Tiwari from Indian Institute of Technology and Prof. Dr. Nachiappan Subramanian from the University of Sussex, England using the data from a food collection center in Turkey have proposed a decision support to develop the strategies that can help maximize the profit of collection centers for delivery of expired and donated food from retailers to food banks, minimize the environmental impact of logistic activities and reduce food waste is published in the international WOS-SCI Q1 indexed Journal of Cleaner Production.

This publication is a result of the research projects "Perishable Food Cold Chain Logistics in Turkey", which is funded by the UK Royal Academy of Engineering, and "Digital Contract and Simulation Design in the Cold Chain", which is funded by TÜBİTAK 2221.
